People actually vote for who their state votes for, and each state has a certain amount of votes in the Electoral College. So, even if 100% of a state or only 50.1% of the state votes for a candidate, it doesn't matter, because the same amount of votes still get counted towards the election for that state either way. So in essence, a president can win an election because he won the right states, even if more people across the country voted for the other guy.

It's 100% unnecessary and retarded.

Lol. Kinda sad, because I understood it XD But essentially, Bush won the big states and managed to get more electoral votes as a result, even though he technically lost the popular vote. Which is bullshit.

And as I type this, I see LM has responded. So......What he said.
